Removes toxins and excess fluid
What is lymphatic drainage massage?
It is a system of techniques that stimulates and helps the lymphatic system function effectively.
It encourages the removal and filtering of waste, toxins and excess fluid from our cells as well as boosting the body’s natural immunity.
Lymphatic Drainage and Weight Loss
Lymphatic massage was first used in the 1930’s to improve drainage in the human body.
Your lymph system helps rid your body of waste . Lymph nodes are located through out your body, this massage technique uses gentle, rhythmic strokes towards the lymph nodes to help rid the body of waste.
Your muscles are not the focus in this type of massage.
Lymphatic drainage massage can help re shape your body but doesnt perminatly remove body fat, it can act as a diuretic to help rid your body of excess fluid.
It can help improve digestion and the removal of waste products from the body. It can also help boost your metabolism by ridding your body of waste products through your lymph nodes.
Removing the excess fluid from your body can also improve circulation.
With a sensible diet and exercise program lymphatic massage may help you gain better results.
Arrive at your appointment well hydrated, dehydration will impair your ability to detoxify.
Expect to undress to your level of comfort, direct contact with the skin is always best.
Arrive with an empty stomach or eat a light snack prior. Drainage will be performed in the deep abdomen and organs.
Do not apply lotion to your skin prior to the treatment. Dry skin contact is most effective for stimulating and stretch response needed by your lymph vessels.
Do not drink alcohol or consume recreational drugs the night before or immediatly after your session.
Your liver is responsible for detoxifying much of what the lymph system collects so dont over burden it as you may feel sick afterwards.
